The best women's organic cotton white t shirts you'll ever wear.
Ethical, sustainable, premium, comfortable, and tried and tested by me, Linda Smyth - lover of a good white tee, and founder of bon label.
bon was born of my love of that beautifully simple, effortlessly chic Parisian t shirt and skirt / t shirt and jeans style, and my obsession with finding the perfect white tee.
blending the two, bon exists to provide women like me - you - with the ultimate (organic) white t shirt.
History shows that a good white tee will literally take you anywhere, and our goal is to provide, and continue to refine, the ultimate set of perfect white t shirts for every body, to wear everywhere.
We currently have four different styles, all thoughtfully designed with utility, comfort and unf*ckupability in mind; (you can read more about the bon unf*ckupability design principle here), and lovingly brought to life in the most ethical and sustainable way, using only GOTS certified organic cotton
And if you need more proof of the power of a good white tee, there’s an excellent article at Vogue.com which outlines the history of the white t shirt and why it’s such a successful, essential piece of clothing. In a nutshell, we’ve (and by we’ve, i mean women like you and me who can’t live without a good white tee) re-purposed the undergarments of 1910’s navy men, then stolen a little more styling from the boys - thanks Marlon Brando, James Dean, Harry Belafonte and Bruce Springsteen; and styled our own versions of this most wonderful garment ever since - worn for warm days and cool nights on holiday’s and on yachts, in bed, down the red carpet, at the beach, on picnic’s, to the supermarket, movies, dates, awards nights, down catwalks, to dinners, brunches, lunches and bbq’s … and pretty much everywhere in between.
There have been many iconic moments featuring women in a simple white t shirt and there’s so much inspiration to draw from. Some of my favourites include Brigitte Bardot in the 60’s, Jane Birkin through the 70’s, Brooke Shields in the 80’s, Linda Evangelista (and pretty much every other supermodel of the ‘90’s), Mary Kate Olsen and Kate Moss in the ‘00’s, and more recently Margaret Zhang, Emmanuelle Alt, Julia Sarr-Jamois and Garance Dore.
Essentially, a good white tee is the ultimate in utility, the possibilities are endless. it can be subtle or a statement, dressy or casual. it makes us feel comfortable, confident and sexy, and it’s creation does not exploit people or damage the environment.
bon tees are good tees.
organic, ethical, meticulously designed and expertly crafted, they’re made to be loved and worn to death. the opposite of fast fashion.
